LUCANIA. Velia. Circa 334-300 BC. Didrachm or Nomos (Silver, 21 mm, 7.28 g, 5 h). Head of Athena to left, wearing Phrygian helmet decorated with a centauress on the bowl; behind neck guard, monogram. Rev. ΥEΛHTΩN Lion standing left, devouring animal part; above, A. HN Italy 1296. Williams 339 (O176/R248). Nicely toned. Slightly rough and with minor marks, otherwise, about very fine.
